Guns N' Roses- Paradise City

Friday's are for Fun and guess what fun is happening in Los Angeles tonight?

That's right. Guns N' Roses at Dodger Stadium.

Here's one of the greats: Guns N' Roses- Paradise City

And now to make a case for why Guns N' Roses is one of the greatest bands/live experiences in the world:

Think about your favorite band or bands or not even your favorite but just the greats. Bands like U2, Metallica, Colplay (seeing them this weekend)...this list would be long. Most of the bands on any "greatest" list have an unbelievable catalog, easily more than 100 songs.

And that's the problem.

Oh how I wish I could control what Coldplay was gonna play this weekend. I'm not saying their new album is bad, I'm just saying there's some older material I want to hear first. And this is true for most every band. "Wow, that was a great show, I just wish they played my song..." The only time this doesn't happen is when you have absolutely no idea what the band's material is (which was the case for when I saw Mutemath for the first time) And in those specific instances if you're a fan of music you will be pleased with anything good they give you.

But Guns N' Roses gets to land right in the perfect center between these two situations. That is because they released 4 albums and then vanished. (No one should count Chinese Democracy. No. One.) Appetite for Destruction is 1 of the best albums ever released and Use Your Illusion is up there as well. And when you go to see them live they play everything you want. Everything. Pair that with the fact that Duff's holding the bass, Axl still sounds amazing and Slash is one of the greatest guitarists ever, you're in for a great time. (saw them at Coachella this year) It was almost nostalgic to hear live for the first time what i'd been listening to for the last 20 years.

So if you can manage to get in and see them before Axl and Slash's relationship dissolves again, I urge you to do it. Go tonight if you can. Make it a Fun Friday!
